After exhaustive searching this was the clear winner. The minute I saw it I said out loud "now THAT's a cool looking watch". Simple yet stylish. Understated. Substantial. Manly. (Hmm, reminds me of him!). And it's a Tissot. Should keep perfect time forever.
He loves it. He comments regularly how much he likes the weight of it. This is no wimpy watch but it doesn't get in the way of his sleeves. Perfect.
